The Accreditation Symbol
The
Accreditation Symbol means that a conformity assessment
body (i.e. a laboratory, inspection body or certification
body) has reached a high level of competence and reliability and is
in conformance with all the requirements of the applicable
and internationally recognized accreditation standards.
Accredited bodies are allowed to use the accreditation
symbol on their reports and certificates. The use
of the accreditation symbol is closely monitored
by the NAB-Malta. Accredited organisations have to follow
the regulations issued by the NAB-Malta (as defined
in publication RAB2)
when using the symbol and when making reference to
accreditation.
The Accreditation symbols that
NAB-MALTA offers are displayed here:

The Accreditation Certificate
The conformity assessment body
will be issued with an NAB-Malta accreditation certificate
having a unique number. It also receives a document
in the form of a schedule which defines the scope
of accreditation for the conformity assessment body. For a an accredited laboratory, this can only issue
test/calibration results on accredited certificates
as long as the methods used to obtain the results
are included in the scope of accreditation. Non-accredited
results cannot be placed on accredited certificates.
