New Accredited Testing Laboratory
Inspectorate Malta Limited, a laboratory forming part of
Inspectorate International Ltd, has been recently awarded
accreditation to the International Standard for Laboratories
ISO17025 by the National Accreditation Board (NAB-MALTA).
The laboratory has been accredited for the testing on
sampling and testing of oil to recognized standards including
tests for density, total sulphur, flash point, kinematic
viscosity and determination of metals.
Inspectorate Malta Limited started its
operations in Malta in May 2010. It currently located in Marsa.
It serves both local and international clients and its services
cover both quantity and quality. During its startup Inspectorate
Immediately set accreditation as one of its objectives and this
helped it to achieve this target in a relatively short time.
Accreditation is achieved following a thorough assessment by a
specialized technical assessment team specifically selected by
the NAB-MALTA for its clients. The objective of this assessment
is to establish the technical competence of the laboratory to
ensure that it has the right personnel, management system,
facilities, equipment and knowledge to issue reliable test
reports and certificates. The requirements are established by
ISO17025 which defines the general requirements for the
competence of testing an calibration laboratories.
It should also be noted that by virtue of NAB-MALTA’s signing of
the Multi Lateral Agreement with the European Co-operation for
Accreditation, the test certificates issued by Inspectorate
Malta Limited now have international recognition.
