European
Information System on Proficiency Testing Schemes
(EPTIS)
EPTIS is the world’s largest
directory of proficiency tests (PT) on the internet,
containing more than 750 entries from the entire European
Union (EU). The EPTIS website and database were established
in the year 2000 in the frame of an EU project. The
system is managed and the data continuously updated
by a consortium of competent partners in 16 European
countries. EPTIS is a non-commercial service and aims
at creating transparency in the international proficiency
testing (PT) market and strengthening PT as a valuable
proof of technical competence.
Eurachem
Eurachem is a network of organisations
in Europe, having the objective of establishing a
system for the international traceability of chemical
measurements and the promotion of good quality practices.
It provides a forum for the discussion of common problems
and for developing an informed and considered approach
to both technical and policy issues. It provides a
focus for analytical chemistry and quality related
issues in Europe.
Eurolab
Eurolab is the European Federation
of National Associations of Measurement, Testing and
Analytical Laboratories. EUROLAB was created in Brussels
on April 27, 1990 on the basis of a memorandum of
understanding, signed by delegations representing
the private and public laboratories of 17 out of the
19 countries of the EEC and EFTA.
Euromet
EUROMET is a cooperative voluntary
organisation between the national metrology institutes
(NMI's) in the EU including the European Commission,
EFTA and EU Accession States. The objective of EUROMET
is to promote the coordination of metrological activities
and services with the purpose of achieving higher
efficiency.
IRMM
- Institute of Reference Materials and Measurements
The Institute for Reference Materials
and Measurements (IRMM) is part of the Directorate-General
- Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
IRMM prime objectives are to perform specific reference
measurements, to produce certified reference materials,
to organise international measurement evaluation programmes,
to contribute reference data to trans-national databases
and to carry out pre-normative research and develop
advanced testing methods.

OECD (The Organisation for Economic
Co-operation and Development) is an international
organisation helping governments tackle the economic,
social and governance challenges of a globalised economy.
GLP is concerned with the organisational processes
and the conditions under which laboratory studies
are planned, performed, monitored, recorded and reported.
